Chapter 12: Did you come here to care about me or him?
Chapter 12: Did you come here to care about me or him?
"You want to fight me?"
A mocking smile played on Shirakawa Yuta's lips. "Why would I fight you?"
"I fought her because I wanted to leave the club, so why would I fight you?"
"you!"
Naoki Inoue was speechless for a moment, then suddenly shouted as if he remembered something: "Don't you have any Bushido spirit at all? You only make excuses to run away when faced with challenges from others."
Yuta Shirakawa found this somewhat amusing. Bushido, huh? The Qing Dynasty is gone... uh, the Shogunate has fallen, and you're still talking to me about Bushido?
Especially in his presence, he showed absolutely no sentimentality towards Bushido.
Yuta Shirakawa hesitated for a moment but didn't say it. After all, he was still in the kendo club. If there was one last place in Japan where the spirit of Bushido existed, it would definitely be in the kendo dojo.
With so many people around, he didn't want to cause trouble for himself.
So he rephrased it, saying, "So, inviting a warrior who's just finished a battle and is exhausted to fight, taking advantage of someone's weakness—that's your samurai spirit?"
"Or are you saying that, in order to gain Hoshino's favor, you're willing to abandon your own samurai spirit and force a weak but principled samurai to fight you?"
Yuta Shirakawa's words were extremely hurtful, and the kendo club members who had initially leaned towards Naoki Inoue instantly realized the truth.
Even the more traditional coach frowned.
"you!"
Enraged, Inoue Naoki grabbed Shirakawa Yuta by the collar. "What nonsense are you spouting, you bastard! How could I possibly be that kind of person? Besides, I just can't stand your wanting to be a traitor, it has nothing to do with anyone else!"
As Shirakawa Yuta impatiently tried to push Inoue Naoki away, his gaze froze for a moment when he saw the other's neck, but quickly returned to normal.
He patted the other person's hand to signal them to let go, and at the same time, he shook his head slightly at Kurosaki Takeshi, who had suddenly stood up and was about to walk towards him.
"If you're not that kind of person, then what are you doing now? And whether I'm lying or not, and what your real motives are, you know the answer in your heart."
"However... if you insist on fighting, I can give you a chance."
"good!"
Without the slightest hesitation, Inoue Naoki agreed immediately, and then turned around to get the bamboo sword.
"Wait, I haven't finished speaking yet."
But Shirakawa Yuta called out to him, so he suppressed his anger and looked at Shirakawa Yuta again: "What do you want to say?"
"If you lose, give me the necklace."
"A necklace?"
Naoki Inoue took off a small jade ring tied with a red string from around his neck. "You mean this?"
Yuta Shirakawa nodded without saying anything, but his eyes were burning with passion.
He had never seen equipment radiating a purple glow before!
Naoki Inoue's angry face showed a look of struggle and confusion, and his hand holding the red rope tightened unconsciously.
Seeing this, Shirakawa Yuta raised an eyebrow. Had he regained his senses?
That won't do; it seems he needs to add fuel to the fire.
"If you don't want to, then forget it. After all, she's just a stranger, and you don't need to force yourself to stand up for her. Besides, your determination just now has already shown your feelings enough, and adding anything more would be a bit unnecessary."
"Fine, I'll give it to you."
Yuta Shirakawa provoked the other party, and they fell for it.
"However, if I win, you must sincerely apologize to me and to my Bushido spirit for your recent remarks. You must also apologize to all members of the Kendo Club!"
Upon hearing this, Shirakawa Yuta was slightly surprised.
Apologize to all members of the Kendo Club?
He thought the other party would make him apologize to Hoshino Tsukigen, but he never expected that the reckless and idiotic Inoue Naoki would suddenly expand the scope of things so much in the end.
The previous statement, "I can't stand traitors," has now gained traction. Even if some people still don't believe it, they can no longer criticize him from a moral high ground.
Yuta Shirakawa abandoned his thoughts of watching the clown and gave the other person a deep look.
Was he doing it on purpose?
But then again, it doesn't seem quite right. If he had just seen the jade and hadn't made a request but instead chose to refuse outright, how would the other party have responded?
Yuta Shirakawa wasn't bothered by not being able to figure it out. As long as the other party was willing to gamble with him using that jade, he'd be willing to apologize even if he had to kneel down, let alone just apologize if he lost.
Anyway, he never thought he would lose!
"Okay, it's a deal!"
……
Inside the women's changing room, Hoshino Tsukizuru sat on the middle bench, spraying liniment onto her ankle.
Because the shield was too thick, she was unaware of what happened afterward.
But before she entered the locker room, she still heard Inoue Naoki say, "I'll fight you."
However, she was not moved by Inoue Naoki's actions; instead, she found them somewhat ridiculous.
That's so childish!
She had seen far too many similar things since kindergarten; she couldn't manage them all, nor did she want to.
It's good to teach Shirakawa Yuta a lesson; maybe then she'll have some peace and quiet.
After regaining her composure, Hoshino Tsukizuru suddenly felt a sense of powerlessness and inexplicably wanted to cry.
She had practiced swordsmanship for so many years since she was a child, and yet she lost to a boy who had only been learning swordsmanship for less than half a year.
The awkward way the other person looked when they first picked up a sword was still etched in her mind; she even taught them how to hold the sword.
But she lost just like that.
Has all her hard work over the years been meaningless?
Tears streamed uncontrollably from his eyes, dripping down his cheeks and staining his white kendo uniform, leaving small, dark patches.
Suddenly, a tissue appeared in front of her.
She looked up and an unexpected face appeared before her.
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be sitting at your game console playing games right now?"
Masako Takahashi hesitated for a moment, but then recounted what had happened.
After wiping away the tears from the corners of her eyes, Hoshino Tsukizuru asked, "So you saw the battle just now?"
Masako Takahashi nodded and then shook her head.
"What does it mean when you nod first and then shake your head?"
"I saw it, but not the whole thing."
"Where did you start watching?"
"It started with 'bang bang bang'."
"Bang bang bang?"
"Yeah, it's 'bang bang bang'!"
As she spoke, Masako Takahashi stretched out her hands, clasped them together, and made a downward pressing motion.
Seeing this, Hoshino Tsukizuru's lips twitched. She suddenly reached out and pinched Takahashi Masako's slightly chubby cheek, pretending to be angry, and said:
"You did this on purpose, didn't you!"
Masako Takahashi chuckled, about to say something, but upon seeing Hoshino Tsukizuru's feet resting on the chair, she abruptly stepped back, breaking free from his grasp.
With an incredulous look, he said, "Did your hand just touch the socks?!"
Hoshino Tsukizuru, feeling a little guilty, put her hands behind her back and said loudly, "No!"
Masako Takahashi narrowed her beautiful eyes slightly. "Really not?"
Seeing this, Hoshino Tsukizuru quickly changed the subject, saying, "By the way, did you come here because you're worried about me or about your deskmate?"
"Ah, this..."
