Chapter 440: Desperate to Leave Him

Caden Lockwood held Evelyn Morgan tightly, listening to her seemingly coy tone, a trace of a smile appeared on his face.

"He dares!" Caden said sternly, as he untied the ropes binding her hands, "It’s my fault. I should have sent a bodyguard to stay by your side earlier, to protect your safety."

"Then why didn’t you send one?" Evelyn immediately asked.

Upon hearing this, the corner of Caden’s lips twisted awkwardly.

Loosening his grip on Evelyn slightly, he looked into her eyes and softly said, "If I sent a bodyguard to follow you earlier, you would certainly refuse."

Evelyn thought about it and agreed.

When nothing bad has happened, who knows they would encounter a kidnapping!

"Now, are you willing to have a bodyguard by your side?" Caden asked lightly, "I’ve found a female bodyguard who has good skills overall, but the only thing is she’s not very talkative and has a rather cold personality. I wonder if you can get along with her."

Evelyn clutched Caden’s clothes tightly, completely putting herself in his arms, afraid of any danger from the outside world attacking her.

Seeing the decisive cold light in Caden’s eyes, Evelyn’s gaze shrank, involuntarily leaning closer into his embrace.

The corners of Caden’s lips curved into a faint smile, making himself look as gentle as possible.

He lifted her up horizontally and started walking outside.

Evelyn watched Caden; his handsome face still carried an easy and graceful demeanor, his thin lips curved with a gentle smile, making people feel at ease at first glance.

Caden also looked at Evelyn, enjoying the moment of her reliance on him.

Moreover, at this moment, she seemed to have completely forgotten her grievances against him.

Walking out the door, wherever Caden’s gaze reached, he saw a man in a police uniform standing behind a large tree, constantly watching Evelyn, with a gun in his hand pointed at her.

Caden immediately sensed something amiss; instinctively he knew that man was definitely not a real policeman.

Seeing Caden’s gaze suddenly turn decisively icy, Evelyn followed his line of sight.

She only saw a gun pointed at her and before she could react, she was swiftly spun around, and within a second, she was facing a different direction.
