Peaceful times passed quickly, and soon Peter encountered another very important matter before the secret war: he was going to start school.
"The problem now is that I don't know how long the secret war will last. If it starts on February 1st, I don't know how many days I'll have to skip class."
"I really can't imagine that you would think about this kind of problem by skipping class."
Strange walked along, muttering to himself in exasperation, completely unable to comprehend Peter's thought process. He also revealed some details about Cindy: "Also, that Spider Silk Lady isn't suited to be a sorcerer. She is indeed connected to some powerful force, but she can't unleash that magic—or rather, there's some force preventing her from releasing that powerful force."
"The power of the web of fate?"
Strange nodded, agreeing with Peter's speculation, and the two then walked into an empty room.
Upon entering the room, Peter was immediately hit by a wave of heat. Feeling that the room temperature was almost 30 degrees Celsius, he couldn't help but take off his mask and then take a deep breath.
Inside the room, Cindy was busy at work. Today, Cindy wasn't wearing her uniform, but rather a green short-sleeved T-shirt and jeans. Glowing threads were wrapped around her dry fingers and swayed back and forth.
Peter looked at Strange, who said with a hint of helplessness, "This is about creating the most suitable conditions, including the temperature."
"—It just feels so strange."
Peter shook his head helplessly, then looked at Cindy: "Cindy? How are you feeling?"
"The temperature was alright, not unbearable. The ceremony was also very simple, not much different from what I usually do when weaving battle suits."
Peter was momentarily confused, not understanding what Cindy meant. Strange, on the other hand, walked to a circle on the ground next to the magic circle: "You go to the opposite side of me, into the same circle. Then follow me as I recite the incantation. I will guide the ritual spell, and you will mobilize the power of the Web of Fate."
Peter stood at the back, watching Strange raise his hand, and began to cast a spell, mimicking his movements and chanting incantations in ancient Egyptian.
"Great Nice, you have woven the whole world, and all the souls, destinies, and lives of the world are within the vast web you have created—"
This incantation sounds almost like flattery—Peter muttered to himself as he began casting the spell. As his hand gestures changed, magical energy from the Web of Fate appeared in Peter's hands.
Then, a thread passed through the energy in his hand, connecting the energy together. Peter glanced at Cindy, then quickly continued chanting, while the thread, along with Cindy's ten fingers spinning the thread, connected into Strange's empty hands.
Then, Strange activated the power of the Web of Fate. He then abruptly changed the scene, using a spell to create a magical mouth that appeared beside Peter's ear, repeating an incantation. Strange then used the Web of Fate's power to cast another spell. Peter saw an Earth appear between them, and everything around them seemed to be weaving a spider's web—a vast, dense web appeared around them, almost completely covering the room outside the ritual area.
Then Peter saw the Earth begin to shake—no, to vibrate—and the frequency of the vibration increased rapidly in an instant, becoming incalculable, before it transformed back into an Earth that appeared to be completely still.
"This is the true nature of the multiverse. All universes are essentially superimposed, with only subtle differences, like an Earth simultaneously causing an infinite number of vibrations. These infinite vibrations are the infinite multiverse." Strange explained the phantom Earth before him, which was actually vibrating infinitely simultaneously, but appeared to be completely still. "And now—!"
As he unleashed the power of the Web of Fate, Cindy nearly exhausted all the threads of fate, weaving a giant net that covered the entire room. With this burst of energy, the net, imbued with it, emitted a dazzling light, and each grid began to individually display various images.
"A simple filter: using the power of the Web of Fate to filter out universes that do not have Spider-Man as a node in Earth's destiny, but still exist as such a node."
Strange, looking somewhat weak, floated up and sat in meditation: "The universe here is far from infinite, but having a few hundred thousand shouldn't be a problem. Okay, hurry up and find them; we can't sustain this for more than a few hours."
Several hours —
Peter was overwhelmed with shock. He stared at the infinite universes appearing in the grid, seeing the Punisher from the ogre universe, and Logan the Grave Wolf from the wasteland universe—all quite familiar to him. No, that wasn't the wasteland universe he'd visited; the Grave Wolf from that universe was dead.
I also saw Deadpool, Punisher, or Wolverine who slaughtered his own universe, or Green Grim Reaper who killed off all the X-Men, or Green Grim Reaper who conquered the whole world.
He also saw Beyond chatting with some people and then making faces at him.
Peter turned to Strange and said, "Could we add another keyword: universes that the Beyonders have never visited?"
Strange rolled his eyes in exasperation, sighed, and indicated that he couldn't do it.
Peter had no choice but to nod and agree. He saw the MCU universe 199999, Iron Man from that universe, and an A4 sheet of paper that the Beyonder had pasted there.
This universe is too weak! I won't choose them! And you shouldn't come either!
You actually started playing that game?!
Peter shook his head helplessly, then saw the Space Ghost Rider. It certainly had the power, but the Space Ghost Rider was clearly not quite right in the head. Next, he saw another universe, one that focused on the late 30th century. There, a young boy named Kang saw his future self and chose to defy his fate. He changed his armor to a red and silver color scheme, determined to change his destiny.
"The Steel Boy from Earth 6311—that's certainly a good candidate, but the problem is, I don't even know if he'll choose to join. And even if he does, who will be next—"
Peter continued reading and saw several more Venoms, or rather, many, many Venoms from different universes. These Venoms all had one thing in common: they were all Eddie Brock.
Should I choose Venom? But wouldn't it be a bit redundant to have Anti-Venom with me?
