Chapter 56, Ward 7
Chapter 56, Ward 7
"How is the situation in ward number seven?"
Dr. Wang sat in his office, head down, writing medical records, his voice low and somber.
Standing opposite him was the caregiver from before. She remained silent for a moment, seemingly in awe of the doctor in front of her.
Finally, unable to withstand the invisible pressure, he had no choice but to speak:
"...Something happened last night, but it's been resolved safely."
"What is it?"
Dr. Wang's tone remained unchanged, but his pen stopped moving.
The caregiver took a deep breath and said, "That patient in bed 12, the woman who fantasizes about cultivating immortality, attacked Chen Mu in bed 13, who had just been released."
boom!
The water sprite flew straight towards the caregiver, who dared not dodge and caught it head-on, leaving a bloody scratch on his face.
This doesn't look like an ordinary pen at all; it looks more like a throwing knife.
"You bastard!" Dr. Wang roared, pointing at her and cursing, "How many times have I told you? Chen Mu is an important patient to me. I didn't hesitate to lock him in solitary confinement. Do you think it's for any other reason? It's because I don't want him to get hurt! Xu Jinxuan has already been used. What right does she have to hurt my treasure! Chen Mu is the only one with value—"
"Don't worry, we arrived in time to stop it. The patient in bed 12 has been given medication and is firmly restrained in bed. Nothing else will happen."
Blood streamed down the caregiver's face, but she didn't dare wipe it away; instead, she explained the situation to the doctor first.
She regretted it a little. She shouldn't have loosened the restraints on purpose just to teach Chen Mu a small lesson. If she had known there would be such consequences, she shouldn't have done it in the first place.
"Separate them up! They're not allowed to live together anymore!"
Dr. Wang ignored the explanation and continued to roar.
"Yes." The caregiver quickly accepted the order, not daring to linger, and immediately turned and left the office.
She hurried toward the ward, anxious, but misfortune never comes singly. She had only taken a few steps when she heard the piercing alarm!
Beep—! Beep beep beep—! ! !
"What?!"
She looked up at the monitor above her head, and it was the alarm coming from ward number seven again. Had something happened again?! Why is it never quiet?!
The caregiver became anxious and quickly called out to any colleagues who could see nearby, "Come on, follow me!" and then rushed over there.
Just as two or three caregivers opened the door to ward number seven, they saw a figure rush out, covered in blood, stumbling and pushing against the caregivers as he fled!
"Trying to run away!"
The caregiver panicked and was about to turn around to grab the escaped patient when a cry for help quickly came from the ward:
"Help...help me..."
The cry for help attracted the attention of the caregivers, who looked inside and discovered an extremely bloody and cruel scene!
"Holy crap!"
"Good heavens!"
A strong, pungent smell of blood hit the air, almost making one nauseous.
On the floor, on the hospital bed, on the walls, there was splattered and flowing dark red blood, not yet fully congealed, reflecting a chilling luster under the pale light.
In the center of the ward, a young girl in a blood-stained hospital gown collapsed to the ground. It was Chen Mu herself; her distinctive white hair was also stained red. Her body twitched slightly, and one hand was tightly clutching her abdomen. But between her fingers, dark red, slippery intestines and fragments of internal organs were uncontrollably squeezing out and flowing out, mixing with the pool of blood!
Her face and lips were ashen, her eyes unfocused, her pupils dilated, staring blankly at the ceiling, uttering extremely weak, intermittent moans.
"Help...it hurts so much..."
The voice was faint and weak, as if it would completely disappear at any moment.
She was attacked again?! Oh no! Too late!
The scene inside the ward door made even the experienced caregivers gasp and freeze in place.
"Damn it! We're doomed! If Dr. Wang finds out about this, we're all finished!"
The caregiver who was just scolded is clearly the team leader of these caregivers, a position similar to a caregiver supervisor.
Her expression shifted between anger and fear, and she trembled, clearly imagining the dire consequences: "Catch that murderer! We can't let her get away! At least we can make amends!"
The head caregiver immediately made a decision and casually pulled a colleague aside:
"You, do something to save her, don't let her die!"
"Huh? I'm a farmer, I'm more suited to changing diapers, I wouldn't know anything about resuscitation—"
The caregiver, who was pulled over, looked bewildered and reluctantly walked over.
She saw that the girl's intestines were sticking out of her belly, and wondered how she could possibly survive. She thought, "Could it be that they made me stay here just to take the blame? What a hassle."
The head nurse didn't care about any of that and grabbed her two colleagues to chase after them.
"Which floor did they go to?!"
After coming out, Xu Jinxuan was nowhere to be seen, but there were bloody footprints in the corridor, obviously indicating that she had run towards the east staircase.
The head nurse and her colleagues chased after them as fast as they could, pulling out walkie-talkies from their pockets as they did so.
"Attention everyone! Someone is trying to escape! Emergency! Assemble on the east staircase..."
She thought for a moment, what did Xu Jinxuan use to tear open Chen Mu's stomach? It couldn't have been done with just her hands, perhaps she was using some kind of weapon.
So they added, "Bring your weapons, tear gas, stun guns, everything, and block the exits!"
The head caregiver remotely opened the iron gate blocking the stairwell. There was no other way; the two caregivers alone might not be able to subdue the madman. They needed the male caregiver from the next building, who had more strength.
But as long as this exit is blocked, Xu Jinxuan will definitely not be able to escape. She has made all the necessary preparations!
...
Meanwhile, in ward number seven.
The caregiver assigned to stay behind for the emergency treatment was somewhat reluctant; the scene was truly disgusting, with blood everywhere and a very pungent smell, almost like the scene of slaughtering a pig back home.
Unfortunately, this little girl was quite pretty, with a pitiful little face. Her tragic death was truly unbearable to look at.
"Oh, I don't know first aid either. Let me push your intestines back in; it's not good for them to be sticking out..."
The caregiver tore a piece of cloth from the bed, squatted down, and planned to just give it a simple bandage.
Touching these intestines, which were still warm, was quite uncomfortable, so I had to handle them very carefully.
But just as she lifted the girl's clothes and saw the blood-soaked, mangled flesh, she sensed something was wrong—
"Huh? What's going on..."
The caregiver froze, realizing something was wrong.
Wound.
What about the wound?
Her intestines were exposed, so why were there no wounds? The girl's abdomen was smooth and flat, and she was very thin. Although there was indeed a lot of blood, there were no tears.
If there's no wound, how do you put the intestines back in? The caregiver's mind didn't quite catch on; she was still thinking about such a simple logical problem.
Before she could finish thinking, the girl in front of her, who was on the verge of death, moved, and the hoarse cries of pain no longer came from her mouth.
Instead, she suddenly reached out, wrapped her arms around the caregiver's neck, and jumped onto him!
That doesn't look like the movements of someone who is seriously injured!
"Um!!"
Before the caregiver could react, everything went black.
All that could be heard was the girl's whisper:
"Thank you."
