"How long will it take for him to wake up?"
Chen Tao asked Atocitas in a low voice.
"It could take hours, it could take days, but it won't take more than a week," Atositas told him. "I never thought it was just an impossible idea that someone could actually do it."
He bared his fangs and looked at the supergirl Kara Zoel lying on the hospital bed.
"An excellent solution," he said. "It's like having a full-body hemodialysis session. He's the first person I've ever seen who put on a red light ring, took it off, and was completely unharmed."
"As long as it works, it's fine." Chen Tao shook his head.
At this moment, they appeared on Earth, in a ward at Star Labs, one of the most advanced laboratories on the planet, which also received investment from LexCorp and Wayne Corporation.
"Watch over him for a while," Chen Tao briefly instructed Atocitas, then strode out of the ward. He was very busy; there were far more things he could do than stay in the ward with Supergirl.
When she saw him walk out of the ward, Arlene Sue, who was sitting outside, also stood up.
Chen Tao shook hands with her very politely.
"The power Sinestro left in the two rings is almost exhausted," Arlins said. "I simply... I have no qualifications to become a Green Lantern, nor do I have the talent to control fear. This was all Sinestro's doing."
She was dressed in a light pink casual outfit, and somewhat awkwardly opened her palm, revealing two rings, one yellow and one green.
"I'm here to give you the ring," Arlins said. "The Green Lantern Corps and the Yellow Lantern Corps are temporarily working together. Because of my brother, most of the Green Lantern Corps are willing to obey my orders. As for the Yellow Lantern Corps, my husband recruited a lot of evil criminals in the universe in order to attack OA... It took me some time to capture these criminals with the Yellow Lanterns and Green Lanterns who are willing to obey my orders, but even so, a large number of them escaped."
Arlins twisted her fingers in distress: "I'm useless. I can't control the ring Sinestro gave me. I can only squander the power he left inside... I... I can't do it. I'm not a Lanternman."
She said, "So far, things are going very well. Hal is already overseeing both legions, and he's doing a great job. So... so I wanted to give the ring to..."
"No need, no need," Chen Tao said.
He stopped the other person from doing so.
"You deserve these two rings."
Chen Tao was about to continue talking to Arlin Sue for a while to comfort her, but then he saw Clark Kent's hurried face appear at the end of the corridor.
So he had no choice but to leave Arlinsau and walk a few steps quickly to meet Clark Kent who was walking towards him.
"How's it going on your end? General Zod should be locked up in jail for now, right? He's not too resistant, is he?"
Chen Tao carefully considered the wording. Given that General Zod was ultimately a dangerous supervillain, he had been temporarily imprisoned in a special cell for superhumans.
Back when the Flash first became the Flash, he would temporarily store any new, unfortunate supervillains he captured in his interplanetary lab.
Of course, without Kryptonite, shackles, and a superpower suppressor, General Zod would never accept these things, and now Mogo is also floating outside of Earth.
This is only a temporary expedient.
Once General Zod realizes he's been tricked, he can use his superpowers to break free of his confinement and remotely command Green Lantern Mogo to attack Earth. So he doesn't care about being locked up; he only wants a negotiation outcome, which is precisely what Chen Tao cannot promise him.
If you want to know Chen Tao's opinion, the answer is to send General Zod to hell; aliens aren't human.
But he also has to consider the opinion of Superman Clark Kent.
Having lost both parents at a young age and having his home planet destroyed, does Clark ever feel nostalgic for his Krypton?
His home planet? The planet where his ancestors lived their entire lives, but which he himself had never seen?
Chen Tao wasn't quite sure what Superman Clark Kent's attitude was towards General Zod, so although he was preparing to go back on his word, he wasn't fully prepared yet.
General Zod was just there, but he didn't dare to ask. Now is the perfect time, as he just sent Superman Clark Kent to escort General Zod to his cell.
Although the cells in the Star Labs were not coated with lead, allowing General Zod's X-ray vision to pass through them, it didn't matter. His current ward and council chamber were both coated with lead, so he didn't need to worry about being overheard while speaking here.
He had long wanted to ask Clark about Krypton—
What Chen Tao least expected was that the first thing Superman Clark Kent said as he walked over was:
"I've been giving you signals for ages, why haven't you taken care of General Zod yet?"

A great man once said, "Every night, when I fall asleep, I die; the next morning, when I wake up, I am reborn."
He brought peace and equality to a country that lacked them.
I firmly believe that Mahatma Gandhi was one of the few who understood the essence of reality, and that his words were far more than just a metaphor for the human soul.
Look.
The world is alive...
The world died.
Then the world was reshaped, came to life again, and then died again.
To die again, to live again...
To die and be reborn, to be reborn and die again...
I am Metatron. The custodian of all knowledge throughout history, the administrator of ideas and timelines, I gaze upon all universes.
The darkest secret of reality is that history is constantly being destroyed and reshaped. Every event repeats itself over and over again, from the birth of a tiny maggot to the death of a greatest hero.
But this must end here.
Only a very few people know that the birth and destruction of this universe is a cyclical process.
As time goes on, the cycle accelerates, and due to this acceleration, the structure of the universe is losing its cohesion.
Reality has been dismantled and reassembled too many times, so the product is not only lifeless, but also faces a great crisis.
I foresee a dark future. The two most powerful and most evil beings in the world are about to go to war.
If I don't stop this war beforehand, history will repeat itself, only this time, reality may not be stable enough to spare us.
Since the beginning of all things, I have sat high on this Möbius chair, observing the myriad aspects of the world. For, in all honesty, whether these beings are alive or dead has no effect on me.
Even so, without an object of observation, I lose my reason for existence, and I will face emptiness. Therefore, even though I am forbidden from interfering with what I know and see, I will still disobey orders and act when I occasionally perceive a significant threat.
My first transgression was in a place very far from here, in another solar system.
There exist two planets that are completely opposite in both appearance and soul.
Apokolips, an abyss of enslavement and oppression, ruled by fear and driven by despair.
And New Genesis, a paradise of culture and technology, though its own interior is also rife with undercurrents.
Even today, many people still misunderstand that I am loyal to New Genesis, but I will not be loyal to anyone, and this needs to be remembered.
Once every thousand years, the orbits of Apokolips and New Genesis will cause the two planets to graze each other, resulting in frequent earthquakes on both planets.
When the gravitational pull of two planets simultaneously plunges them into crisis, Apokolips and Star Genesis will usually go to war.
The war raged on, and they would destroy everything I saw. Therefore, knowing the crux of these battles, I intervened—I did what no one else dared to do.
I first had the Möbius Chair take me to Apokolips to speak with Darkseid, the ruler of Apokolips.
Many years ago, Apokolips.
Darkseid stood inside a building, his hands behind his back. Before him stretched the dark red, magma-like sky of Apokolips.
The furnaces of the steel factory ignited before Darkseid, spewing crimson lava into the sky, scattering it like petals from a fairy onto the land of Apokolips.
They are forging weapons; this is the clarion call of war, and also the once-in-a-millennium grand event on Apokolips.
Metron sat on the Chair of Möbius, and at that moment he appeared behind Darkseid.
The Möbius Chair… Simply put, this thing can turn anyone who sits on it, even a pig, into a living encyclopedia of the DC universe. It can let the person sitting on it hear the answers—the answers to everything in the world. As long as the Möbius Chair knows, it can tell the person sitting on it.
Of course, in addition to these, there are some basic functions, such as being able to travel freely in time, space and other dimensions, and so on.
The Möbius Chair is also equipped with a traction beam strong enough to pull a planet off its orbit, but in short, it is just a means of transportation and does not possess any great power, but it is enough to allow Mettron to appear silently behind Darkseid.
"I've come up with a deal that can put an end to this war," Mitrom said.
"This war will not end until I unify all beings. All beings include you, the observer."
"What if there are no more beings to rule? What then do you seek? Darkseid, my method is simple and straightforward, and it is also about winning hearts and minds. You and the Father, the ruler of the new creation star, each choose one son, and then go to a neutral territory to exchange these two sons."
Darkseid did not look back.
"I have many sons, Metron. And even if one of them inherits the new Genesis, I will not make peace with them."
"You may not, but God will make peace with you."
I said.
I finally persuaded Darkseid. He finally turned to look at me, a dark flame flickering in his eyes, like the mines of Apokolips. I'm not sure if I saw a smile or if he simply exhaled, but Darkseid agreed.
Next up is New Genesis.
"Your request is too much for me and my family, Metron."
I sat in the Möbius Chair.
"This agreement can save the entire New Genesis and all living beings, Father."
My Heavenly Father, before me, held his head and said, "Do you understand what kind of planet you're asking me to send a son to? He might very well die there."
"You know I know everything, so this is a request I'm not asking," I said.
"The blasphemy and torture he had to endure—"
Darkseid agreed.
I saw the Father's expression soften. I knew He was moved, just as the Möbius Chair had told me.
And at that time...
He had heard everything in the shadows, from one of the Father's sons.
He fled in panic.
Then there were the hands that rested on his shoulders.
"Scott..." (Note: Scott Free, also known as Mr. Miracle, is the strongest escape artist in the DC Universe, bar none, even surpassing Batman. His wife is Barda, Darkseid's strongest Valkyrie, meaning Mr. Miracle found a wife on Apokolips.)
"Please, Father, don't send me! Please don't choose me!"
I saw the look in my Father's eyes when he looked at me. His face was always filled with compassion, but his eyes were as still as a deep well.
He held his weeping infant son, indifferent like a god.
And he truly was a god.
I needed to say what he wanted me to say: "Only in this way can the war be ended."
So I said that.
But I lied to God the Father. Even if these two children were sacrificed, many more people would still die.
Many years ago, it was neutral territory.
"Why hasn't my father come, General?" A young child looked up at the wolf beside him. He looked at the other side of the standoff, where the Heavenly Father was embracing his young son, and the father and son wept together.
"Because he knows that you can manage even without him," Steppenwolf replied.
I am Metron. In my presence, they exchanged hostages.
"Are you crying?" Darkseid's son said. "Hmph, you won't survive on Apokolips, Son of the Father. You're doomed. You'll die crying and wailing, but I will destroy the new Apokolips from within. I am Orion, son of Darkseid."
He strode confidently past Mr. Miracle of the Future: "Unlike you, I will not yield."
(Note: Orion, son of Darkseid, later developed an unwavering belief in the new Genesis and was known as the War Dog.)
Darkseid's youngest son was like an untamed beast, while the Son of the Father was thrown into a slave camp to suffer. Yet all things continued to exist, and I was able to continue to observe all the known and unknown universes.
The agreement has been reached.
Scott's life or death is irrelevant to me; as long as there is no war, my observations can continue.
I am Metron, I am the Observer.
I sit high on the Möbius chair, and I know everything.
